Kolobhemese

Kolobhemese is a constructed language created for a fictional setting known as the Kolobhem universe. It is presented as the native tongue of the Kolobhem people and is sometimes referred to as Kolobhemian. The language serves as a central element in worldbuilding, providing cultural context and aiding translation of in-universe texts.

Phonology and writing: The language features about 24 consonants and five vowels, with a tendency toward syllable structures of CV, CVC, and CVCC. It allows consonant gemination and uses stress as an intonational cue. The primary writing system is a geometric syllabary developed for in-world manuscripts, sometimes used in conjunction with the Latin alphabet in translations.

Grammar: Kolobhemese is largely agglutinative, forming words by linear affixation to a root. The basic word order is subject–verb–object, but discourse can shift the order for emphasis. Nouns distinguish number and definiteness by suffixes, while case relations are marked with postposed particles. Verbs encode tense, aspect, mood, and aspectual nuance through affixes and internal changes.
