Kolmoiskopolymeerit
Kolmoiskopolymeerit, also known as terpolymers, are polymers formed from three distinct monomer units. Unlike homopolymers which consist of a single type of monomer, or copolymers formed from two types, terpolymers introduce a third monomer into the polymer chain. The arrangement of these three monomers within the chain can be varied, leading to different polymer architectures and properties. Common arrangements include random terpolymers where the monomers are distributed randomly, alternating terpolymers where the monomers follow a repeating pattern, and block terpolymers where blocks of one monomer are linked to blocks of another.
The inclusion of a third monomer allows for fine-tuning of material properties that might not be achievable
Examples of terpolymers are found in various industries. Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) plastic is a well-known terpolymer, combining
