Kollsnes

Kollsnes is an onshore natural gas processing facility located at Kollsnes on the coast near Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. It forms the onshore component of the Troll gas field’s export system and processes gas collected from offshore Troll installations, including the Troll A platform.

At the plant, natural gas is processed to remove condensate, water and acid gases, and to separate natural gas liquids. The treated gas is dehydrated and conditioned to meet pipeline specifications before being fed into the Norwegian gas transport system and exported to European markets.

Ownership and operation: The facility is operated by Equinor on behalf of the Troll field partners, with the national gas transportation system coordinated by Gassco. The plant's role is integrated with offshore Troll facilities and the broader European gas network.

Location and significance: Kollsnes is a key node in Norway’s gas export infrastructure, enabling gas from the Troll field to reach customers in the United Kingdom and continental Europe via multiple export routes.
