Kollagénszintézisben refers to the process of collagen synthesis. Collagen is a crucial structural protein found in the extracellular matrix of various connective tissues in animals. Its synthesis is a complex, multi-step process involving both intracellular and extracellular events. The initial steps occur within fibroblasts and other specialized cells. Genes encoding different types of collagen are transcribed and translated into precursor proteins called procollagens. These procollagens undergo post-translational modifications, including hydroxylation of proline and lysine residues, and glycosylation, which are essential for the stability and function of the final collagen molecule.

Following these intracellular modifications, procollagen molecules are secreted from the cell into the extracellular space. Outside the cell, procollagen undergoes further processing. Procollagen peptidases cleave off non-helical terminal extensions, converting procollagen into tropocollagen. Three tropocollagen molecules then assemble to form a triple helix, creating the characteristic collagen fibril. These fibrils further aggregate and cross-link through enzymatic activity, primarily by lysyl oxidases, to form mature, stable collagen fibers. This intricate process ensures the structural integrity, elasticity, and tensile strength of tissues like skin, bones, tendons, and cartilage. The rate and efficiency of collagen synthesis can be influenced by various factors, including age, nutrition, and hormonal status.
