Kohdelaitteen

Kohdelaitteen is a Finnish term used in information technology, telecommunications, and related fields to refer to the device that is the intended recipient or focal point of a service, operation, or command. In practice, the kohdelaitteen is the endpoint that data is sent to, a device that is being controlled, or an object of configuration and monitoring. The concept is context-dependent and may apply to consumer electronics, industrial equipment, or IoT endpoints.

The term is formed from kohde (target) and laite (device). The form kohdelaitteen is used in Finnish to express “of the target device” or to annotate properties and actions related to that device, such as kohdelaitteen osoite (address of the target device) or kohdelaitteen valinta (selection of the target device).
