Klaricid is a brand name for the antibiotic medication clarithromycin. Clarithromycin belongs to a class of drugs called macrolides, which are used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Klaricid is prescribed for infections of the respiratory tract, such as pneumonia and bronchitis, as well as skin infections and some infections of the ear.
