The mineral is composed of uranium and oxygen, with the chemical formula UO2. It is a black, radioactive mineral that crystallizes in the monoclinic system. Kilodouleite is of interest to scientists due to its unique composition and the potential insights it may provide into the geological processes that occur during the formation of uranium deposits. However, due to its radioactivity, it is not suitable for use as an energy source.
