Kerrospilvet

Kerrospilvet, also known as lenticular clouds, are a unique and distinctive type of cloud formation that often appear in the troposphere, the lowest layer of Earth's atmosphere. They are characterized by their lens-like shape and are typically stationary, appearing to hover over a specific location. Lenticular clouds form when stable, moist air flows over a topographic barrier, such as a mountain range. As the air rises and cools, it condenses into a cloud, which then descends and evaporates as it moves over the barrier. This process can repeat, creating a series of stacked, lens-shaped clouds. Lenticular clouds are often associated with strong winds and can be seen in various colors, including white, gray, and even vibrant hues like pink or green, depending on the lighting conditions and the presence of other atmospheric phenomena.
