Keratinocytákból

Keratinocytákból is the Hungarian plural form of keratinocyte. Keratinocytes are the main type of cell found in the epidermis, the outermost layer of the skin. They are produced in the basal layer of the epidermis and migrate upwards, undergoing a process called keratinization as they mature. During this process, they produce and accumulate keratin, a tough, fibrous protein that forms the structural basis of skin, hair, and nails.

These cells play a crucial role in forming a protective barrier against the environment, preventing water loss and the entry of pathogens. As keratinocytes reach the surface of the skin, they flatten and eventually shed off in a process called desquamation. This continuous renewal of the epidermis is essential for maintaining skin health and integrity.

Keratinocytes are also involved in wound healing and immune responses within the skin. Their differentiation and proliferation are tightly regulated by various growth factors and signaling pathways. Disruptions in keratinocyte function can lead to various skin conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, and certain types of skin cancer. Understanding the biology of keratinocytes is fundamental to dermatology and the development of treatments for skin diseases.
