Kelmiäärimetroista

Kelmiäärimetroista, often translated as "thief meter" or "pickpocket meter," is a conceptual device or a hypothetical measurement tool used in discussions, often within the context of economics or social science, to quantify the perceived risk of theft or pickpocketing in a given area or situation. It is not a physical instrument that can be purchased or deployed in the real world. Instead, it serves as a metaphorical framework for analyzing factors that contribute to petty crime.

A higher reading on a hypothetical kelmiäärimetroista would indicate a greater likelihood of encountering pickpocketing or petty theft. The term itself is Finnish, combining "kelmi" (rascal, rogue, thief) with "mittari" (meter) and adding a plural suffix.
