Kavachas
Kavachas are protective amulets or talismans originating from Indian traditions, particularly Hinduism. The word "kavacha" itself translates to "armor" or "shield" in Sanskrit, reflecting their primary purpose. These are often made from various materials such as metal, paper, or cloth, and are inscribed with sacred mantras, yantras (geometric diagrams), or images of deities. The belief is that these inscriptions imbue the kavacha with divine energy, offering protection against negative influences, physical harm, spiritual obstacles, and even illness.
Kavachas are not merely passive objects; they are believed to be activated through specific rituals and prayers.
