Kardiotoraszkus

Kardiotoraszkus, also known as cardiac catheterization or coronary angiography, is a medical procedure used to diagnose and treat heart conditions. It involves the insertion of a thin, flexible tube called a catheter into a blood vessel, typically in the groin or neck, and guiding it to the heart. The catheter is equipped with a small camera and a dye that is injected into the bloodstream. The dye highlights the blood vessels, allowing the cardiologist to visualize the heart's blood flow and identify any blockages or abnormalities.

The procedure is commonly used to diagnose coronary artery disease, where the coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle become narrowed or blocked. It can also be used to assess the heart's function, detect heart muscle damage, and guide the placement of stents or other devices to open blocked arteries.

Kardiotoraszkus is typically performed under local anesthesia and takes about 30 to 60 minutes. Patients may experience some discomfort or bruising at the insertion site. The procedure carries a low risk of complications, but as with any medical procedure, there is a small risk of bleeding, infection, or damage to blood vessels.

Post-procedure, patients are usually monitored in a recovery area for a short period before being discharged. They may need to rest for a few hours and avoid strenuous activity for a day or two. The results of the procedure are typically available immediately, allowing for prompt treatment decisions if necessary.
