Karasahr
Karasahr, also known as Kara-shahr, is an ancient oasis city in the Tarim Basin, located in present-day Xinjiang, China. It sits in the region of the northern Silk Road networks and was a key stop for caravans traveling between Central Asia and China. The site lies near the modern town of Karasahr in what is now Aksu Prefecture.
Historically, Karasahr functioned as the capital of a regional oasis state known as the Karashahr Kingdom.
