Kambisoolad
Kambisoolad is a fictional term used in speculative fiction and world-building discussions to describe a type of communal ritual. In the most common fictional treatment, kambisoolad is practiced by small communities that seek to strengthen cooperative networks and reciprocal obligation. The ritual unfolds over a defined period, often in a circle at dusk or in a central communal space, where participants take turns performing acts that symbolize mutual support—sharing food, telling stories, or enacting coordinated movements. A central object, the kambisool, may be passed between participants to mark cycles of giving and receiving and to seal agreements made during the rite.
Etymology in the fiction is usually explained as a compound of invented roots meaning “together” and “binding,”
In literary analysis within fiction, kambisoolad is used to examine themes such as trust, reciprocity, and communal
