Kalapana

Kalapana commonly refers to two distinct topics in Hawaiian culture: a coastal community on the island of Hawaii and a Hawaiian-based rock band that rose to prominence in the 1970s.

Kalapana (place) is a small coastal settlement in the Puna District on the eastern side of the Big Island of Hawaii. Kalapana (band) is an American soft rock band formed in Hawaii in the 1970s. After disbanding, the name continued through reunion performances and occasional touring projects by former members, reflecting the enduring popularity of its early work in the regional music scene.
