Kaksiohjausta

Kaksiohjausta, also known as co-piloting or dual control, refers to a system in which two pilots share the responsibilities of flying an aircraft. This system is commonly used in commercial aviation, particularly in large aircraft such as airliners, to enhance safety and reliability. In a kaksiohjausta setup, one pilot is designated as the pilot flying (PF), who is responsible for the actual control of the aircraft, while the other pilot is the pilot monitoring (PM), who oversees the flight and is prepared to take over control if necessary.

The pilot flying handles the primary tasks of flying the aircraft, including navigation, communication with air traffic control, and managing the aircraft's systems. The pilot monitoring, on the other hand, is responsible for monitoring the aircraft's systems, checking the navigation and communication equipment, and ensuring that the flight plan is being followed. Both pilots are required to maintain constant communication and coordination throughout the flight.
