Kahendsüsteemiga

Kahendsüsteemiga, also known as the binary system, is a numeral system that uses only two symbols, typically 0 and 1, to represent numbers. Unlike the decimal system, which is base-10 and uses ten digits (0-9), the binary system is base-2. This means that each position in a binary number represents a power of two, starting from 2^0 on the rightmost side.

For example, the binary number 1011 can be converted to the decimal system by calculating (1 * 2^3) + (0 * 2^2) + (1 * 2^1) + (1 * 2^0), which equals 8 + 0 + 2 + 1 = 11 in decimal. Conversely, the decimal number 11 would be represented as 1011 in binary.

The kahendsüsteemiga is fundamental to modern computing. Digital computers represent all data, including numbers, text, and instructions, using binary code. This is because electronic circuits can easily represent two distinct states: on (represented by 1) and off (represented by 0), which correspond directly to the binary digits. The simplicity and reliability of binary representation make it ideal for the processing and storage of information within electronic devices.
