Kaffrine is a region located in the central-southern part of Senegal. It was established on July 1, 2008, when it was carved out of the Thiès Region. The capital city of the Kaffrine region is also named Kaffrine. The region is situated in an area known for its agricultural activities, primarily peanut and millet cultivation. It is one of Senegal's relatively newer administrative divisions.
