Kaarevia

Kaarevia is a sovereign state located on the western coast of the fictional continent of Aldoria. The capital and largest city is Kaerhaven. The official language is Kaarevian, with English widely used in government and commerce. As of the mid-2020s, the population is around three million.

Geographically, Kaarevia comprises coastal plains, rolling hills, and forested highlands. The climate is temperate maritime near the coast and more continental inland. The country has abundant timber, freshwater resources, and significant hydropower potential.

History: The region was settled in the late Iron Age and later organized into a unified realm in the medieval period. Kaarevia emerged as an independent state in the mid-20th century following a peaceful transition to constitutional governance.

Government: Kaarevia is a constitutional republic with a bicameral legislature. A President (head of state) and a Prime Minister (head of government) are elected within a multi-party system. The judiciary operates independently.

Economy: The economy mixes agriculture, manufacturing, and services. Dairy and grain farming form the backbone of agriculture; there is growing activity in light manufacturing, information technology, and tourism. Renewable energy projects, especially hydroelectric power, are a government priority.

Demographics and culture: The population is ethnically diverse, with Kaarevians forming the majority and several minority communities, including Velari and Nywan. Cultural life emphasizes literature, music, crafts, and regional culinary traditions; national holidays reflect harvest and historical milestones.
