Középerai is a Hungarian term that translates to "middle Jurassic" in English. It refers to the second of three epochs within the Jurassic period, which itself is a part of the Mesozoic Era. The Middle Jurassic epoch is generally considered to have spanned from approximately 174.1 million years ago to 163.5 million years ago. This period is a significant chapter in Earth's history, marked by notable geological and biological developments.

During the Középerai, the supercontinent Pangaea continued to break apart, leading to the formation of new oceans and continents. This continental drift influenced global climate patterns and ocean currents. Biologically, the Middle Jurassic witnessed a diversification of life.
