Beyond these fundamental types, intermediate and other specific bond types exist, such as hydrogen bonds, which are a special type of dipole-dipole interaction between a hydrogen atom bonded to a highly electronegative atom (like oxygen, nitrogen, or fluorine) and another electronegative atom nearby.
