Käsisaag
Käsisaag is the Estonian word for a handsaw. It refers to a common type of saw powered by hand, designed for cutting wood and other materials. A typical käsisaag consists of a metal blade with sharpened teeth along one edge, attached to a handle. The user applies pressure and moves the saw back and forth to make a cut. The shape and size of the teeth, as well as the length and width of the blade, vary depending on the intended use. For instance, a coarser toothed blade is generally used for faster, rougher cuts, while a finer toothed blade is suitable for more precise, cleaner cuts. Käsisaag are used in a wide range of applications, from woodworking and carpentry to DIY projects and general maintenance. They are a fundamental tool found in many households and workshops. The effectiveness of a käsisaag depends on the sharpness of its teeth, the type of material being cut, and the skill of the operator. While power saws have become prevalent, the käsisaag remains a valuable and practical tool for many tasks where a power source is unavailable or unnecessary.
