Jäähdytysväylä, often translated as cooling channel or coolant passage, refers to a designed conduit or space within a system intended for the circulation of a cooling fluid. This fluid, typically water, oil, or a specialized coolant, absorbs excess heat generated by components and transports it away.

These passages are fundamental in managing thermal loads in a wide variety of applications. In internal combustion engines, for instance, jäähdytysväylät form a complex network within the engine block and cylinder head, allowing coolant to surround the combustion chambers and prevent overheating. Similarly, in electronics, semiconductor devices or power components may incorporate micro-channels or larger passages for heat dissipation, ensuring stable operation and extending their lifespan.
