Jäähdytysletkut

Jäähdytysletkut, often referred to as coolant hoses or radiator hoses, are essential components in an engine's cooling system. Their primary function is to transport coolant, a mixture of antifreeze and water, between the engine's hot components and the radiator. This circulation is crucial for maintaining the engine's optimal operating temperature, preventing overheating and potential damage.

There are typically two main types of jäähdytysletkut in a vehicle: the upper radiator hose and the lower radiator hose. The upper hose connects the engine's thermostat housing to the top of the radiator, allowing hot coolant to flow into the radiator for cooling. The lower hose connects the bottom of the radiator back to the engine's water pump, facilitating the return of cooled coolant to the engine.

These hoses are usually made of durable, heat-resistant rubber or silicone compounds. They are designed to withstand high temperatures, pressure fluctuations, and the corrosive nature of coolant. Over time, exposure to these conditions can cause the hoses to degrade, leading to cracks, leaks, or weakening.
