Juhtelementideks

Juhtelementideks refers to a term which has been used in Estonian, referring to children who were taken out of their families in a context of post-occupation adoption practices.

Following the Soviet occupation of Estonia in 1940, many children of families who were perceived as being politically suspect or of a certain social class were removed from their families and placed in a system. Apart from removing them from their family, they also underwent intense rehabilitation and re-socialization efforts with repressively secular Soviet Estonian officials or imperial education system at the Baltic exclave, and large number of them later adopted to international applicant families and living out of the country.

Those children referred to as juhtelementideks were subject to the national Soviet communist governing policies of the 1940s and onwards outside of the policy realm attributed to Soviet restructuring.
