Joulecoulomb is a unit of energy, specifically defined as the energy transferred when one coulomb of electric charge moves through an electric potential difference of one volt. This unit is derived from the fundamental relationship between energy, charge, and potential difference, where energy is equal to charge multiplied by potential difference. The joulecoulomb is therefore equivalent to one joule. Its symbol is J C, though it is rarely used in practice, as the joule is the standard unit for energy.

The concept of the joulecoulomb is useful in understanding the energy associated with the movement of charge in electric circuits.
