James Madison University (JMU) is a public research university located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, United States. Founded in 1908, JMU is named after James Madison, the fourth President of the United States and the principal author of the United States Constitution. The university is part of the Virginia State University system and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
