Jingdezheni

Jingdezhen is a city in Jiangxi Province, China, widely known as the porcelain capital of the country due to its long history of ceramic production. It is located in the northeastern part of Jiangxi and has been closely associated with porcelain making for many centuries.

The area’s ceramic industry dates back to the Song dynasty, with imperial kilns operating there for successive dynasties and shaping a strong tradition of craftsmanship. The city’s name derives from the Jingde era (1004–1007) of the Northern Song dynasty, when kilns were established in the region to supply the imperial court.
