JavaScriptversioille refers to the different versions of the JavaScript programming language that have been developed and released over the years. The first version of JavaScript, known as JavaScript 3.5, was introduced in 1995 by Netscape Communications Corporation. This early version was primarily used for client-side scripting in web browsers. However, it was soon surpassed by JavaScript 1.0, which was released in 1996 and became the de facto standard for the language.

Subsequent versions of JavaScript, including JavaScript 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5, were released in rapid succession, each adding new features and improving the language's performance and functionality. In 2008, the European Computer Manufacturers Association (ECMA) took over the process of standardizing JavaScript, releasing ECMA-262, 3rd edition, which defined the language's specification. This marked a significant turning point in the language's development, as it became a globally accepted standard.

Since then, several new versions of JavaScript have been released, including ECMA-262, 5th edition (ECMAScript Harmony), which was published in 2009, and ECMA-262, 6th edition (ECMAScript 6, also known as ECMAScript 2015), which was published in 2015. Each new version has introduced significant changes, including new language features, APIs, and tools. Today, JavaScript continues to evolve and is widely used for both client-side and server-side scripting, thanks in part to its numerous versions and updates.
