Jarayondagi

Jarayondagi is an Uzbek grammatical term that functions as an attributive adjective formed from the noun jarayon, meaning "process." The suffix -dagi attaches to jarayon to express "the one that is in the process" or "in the process." As a result, jarayondagi translates roughly to "in the process" or "ongoing" when used to describe another noun. It is commonly found in analytical, administrative, and academic Uzbek, where authors discuss stages, procedures, or developments that are currently underway.

Morphology and use: The suffix -dagi is a locative-descriptive ending that creates adjectives from nouns, indicating location or state. Jarayondagi is formed by adding -dagi to jarayon, and then it agrees with the noun it modifies in number and definiteness. The word typically precedes the noun it describes: jarayondagi natijalar (the results during the process), jarayondagi ishlar (the work in progress). In longer noun phrases, it can appear as part of a nominal group such as jarayondagi holatlar (the situations in the process).

Usage note: Jarayondagi signals that the described item is part of an ongoing operation or study, emphasizing contrast with completed or retrospective aspects. It is especially common in reports, project descriptions, and methodological discussions, where distinguishing between ongoing and finished elements is important.
