JNPT
Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, commonly known as JNPT, is the largest container port in India. Located in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, it handles a significant portion of the country's maritime trade. Established on May 26, 1989, JNPT was conceived to decongest the Mumbai port and to provide a modern, efficient gateway for international trade. It is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model port, with various private operators managing its container terminals.
The port has undergone several phases of expansion and modernization to enhance its capacity and efficiency.
