Itari is a fictional sovereign state commonly used in world-building and speculative fiction. It is depicted as a temperate coastal nation located on a peninsula in a fictional continent. The name Itari is believed to derive from an ancient harbor term Itar or from a legendary founder named Itara. Local legend associates the name with sea trade and harbor wisdom, a motif that is reflected in Itari’s cultural identity.

Geographically, Itari covers roughly 60,000 square kilometers and features a central upland known as the High Reach and a northern mountain range.
