Ismerje

Ismerje is a term used to describe the Albanian language proficiency test for non-native speakers. It is administered by the Agency for Development and Innovation in the Field of Education and Training, a government agency in Albania. The test is designed to assess the language skills of individuals who wish to study or work in Albania and to provide a standardized measure of their proficiency in the Albanian language.

The Ismerje test consists of two parts: a written test and a speaking test. The written test evaluates the candidate's reading and writing skills, while the speaking test assesses their speaking and listening skills. The test format, content, and scoring system are all based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale.

Passing the Ismerje test is a requirement for individuals who wish to pursue higher education in Albanian universities or to work in certain professions, such as teaching or translation. The certificate awarded upon passing the test is recognized by various institutions in Albania and is equivalent to a B2 level of proficiency in the CEFR scale.

The Ismerje test is conducted periodically throughout the year and the dates for each test session are announced by the Agency in advance. The application process typically involves submitting an application form and supporting documents, such as a valid passport and proof of language proficiency in other subjects.

The test results are valid for two years, after which they must be renewed. Individuals who pass the test can choose to have their results validated by the relevant institutions, which can help them to secure employment or further education opportunities.
