Ishchilarning

Ishchilarning is a possessive or genitive construction used in Uzbek and other Turkic languages to indicate possession or association by a group of workers. It is commonly translated as “the workers’” and appears in legal, sociological, and everyday contexts.

Morphology: It is formed from the base noun ishchi (worker). The plural suffix -lar yields ishchilar (workers). A genitive/possessive suffix -ning attaches to the plural, producing ishchilarning, which means “of the workers” or “the workers’.” In usage, it functions to mark possession by the plural agent.

Examples: Ishchilarning mehnati jamiyat uchun muhim. (The workers’ labor is important for society.) Ishchilarning huquqlari himoya qilinadi. (The workers’ rights are protected.) These phrases illustrate how ishchilarning connects a noun to its possessors.

Cross-language notes: Similar possessive-genitive constructions appear in related Turkic languages, with differing suffix orders or forms. In Turkish, a closely related form is işçilerin, serving the same general function as a plural possessive.
