Invapysäköinti

Invapysäköinti refers to accessible parking spaces designated for individuals with disabilities. These spaces are typically wider than standard parking spots to allow for the operation of a wheelchair lift or to provide more room for a person to exit and enter a vehicle. In Finland, where the term invapysäköinti is used, these spaces are marked with a blue sign featuring a white wheelchair symbol.

Eligibility for using invapysäköinti spaces is determined by a disability parking permit issued by the Finnish Social Insurance Institution (Kela). This permit is granted to individuals whose mobility is significantly impaired and who require the use of a vehicle for transportation. The permit must be clearly displayed on the vehicle when parked in an invapysäköinti space.
