Infrapunafotoneja

Infrapunafotoneja, a Finnish term, translates to "infrared photons" in English. These are elementary particles that constitute infrared radiation. Infrared radiation is a form of electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths longer than visible light and shorter than microwaves. It occupies the electromagnetic spectrum between approximately 700 nanometers and 1 millimeter.

Infrared photons are the quanta of infrared light. They possess energy levels that are lower than those of visible light photons. This lower energy means that infrared photons can excite molecular vibrations in matter, leading to heating. This is why infrared radiation is often associated with heat.

The interaction of infrared photons with matter is responsible for various phenomena and technologies. For instance, the Earth's atmosphere absorbs and re-emits infrared radiation, contributing to the greenhouse effect.
