Inertikræfter

Inertikræfter, also known as inertial forces or fictitious forces, are apparent forces that arise in non-inertial frames of reference. They are not true forces in the sense of being caused by the interaction between objects, but rather are a consequence of the observer's accelerated motion. When an observer is accelerating, their frame of reference is not inertial, and they perceive objects as experiencing forces that do not exist in an inertial frame.

For instance, consider a person standing in an accelerating car. From the perspective of someone standing on the ground (an inertial frame), the person is simply being pushed forward by the car's acceleration. However, from the perspective of the person in the car (a non-inertial frame), they feel as though they are being pushed backward into their seat. This perceived backward force is an inertikraft, specifically the inertial force associated with the car's acceleration.

Other common examples of inertikræfter include the centrifugal force, which appears to push objects outward in a rotating frame of reference, and the Coriolis force, which deflects moving objects in a rotating frame. These forces are crucial for accurately describing motion in many physical situations, such as weather patterns on Earth or the dynamics of rotating machinery. While they are not fundamental forces, inertikræfter are indispensable tools for analyzing motion within accelerating reference frames.
