Indetemperatur

Indetemperatur refers to the air temperature inside an enclosed space, such as a home, office, or public building. It is a central component of thermal comfort and is influenced by factors including humidity, air movement, clothing, and metabolic activity. In practice, indetemperatur is the temperature of the occupied zone and is the primary variable adjusted by heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Indetemperatur is typically measured in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit. Readings come from sensors or thermostats placed in the breathing zone, usually about 0.8 to 1.2 meters above the floor and away from direct heat sources or sunlight. Measurements can vary over time, so many systems use multiple sensors or reported averages to reflect overall conditions.

A range of factors determines indetemperatur, including outdoor climate, building insulation, solar gains, ventilation rates, occupancy levels, and humidity. Building control systems set target temperatures and operate equipment to maintain those setpoints, but actual temperature can differ due to transient loads, equipment performance, or sensor placement.

Standards and comfort guidelines, such as ASHRAE 55 and ISO 7730, describe acceptable ranges for indoor environments. Typical comfort ranges are influenced by activity level and humidity, with common targets around 20–24°C. In winter, setpoints are often about 20–22°C; in summer, around 23–26°C. Humidity and air velocity can significantly affect perceived comfort even when indetemperatur is within a nominal range.

Applications of indetemperatur include energy-efficient building operation and occupant well-being. It should be considered together with humidity, air quality, and radiant conditions for accurate comfort assessment.
