Imuventtiiliä

Imuventtiiliä, often translated as intake valve or inlet valve, is a crucial component in reciprocating engines. Its primary function is to allow the precise entry of the air-fuel mixture or just air into the combustion chamber during the intake stroke. This valve is typically located in the cylinder head, opposite the exhaust valve.

The operation of the imuventtiiliä is timed by the camshaft, which opens the valve at the correct moment to facilitate the filling of the cylinder. When the piston moves downwards, it creates a vacuum within the cylinder, drawing the air-fuel mixture or air past the open imuventtiiliä. Once the cylinder is sufficiently filled, the camshaft rotates, and the imuventtiiliä closes, sealing the combustion chamber for the compression stroke.

The design of the imuventtiiliä is critical for engine performance and efficiency.
