Ilmankäsittelylaitteet, often referred to as AHUs (Air Handling Units), are crucial components in building climate control systems. Their primary function is to ventilate and regulate the air within a building, ensuring comfortable and healthy indoor conditions. AHUs are typically complex assemblies that combine several air treatment functions into a single unit.

These devices typically include a fan, heating and cooling elements (such as coils), filters, and dampers. The fan draws in outside air or recirculates indoor air, or a combination of both. The air then passes through filters to remove particulate matter, allergens, and other contaminants. Heating and cooling coils adjust the air temperature to the desired level, while humidifiers or dehumidifiers can also be integrated to control moisture levels. Dampers regulate the flow of air, allowing for precise control over the amount of fresh and recirculated air entering the system.

AHUs are essential for maintaining indoor air quality, which directly impacts occupant health and productivity. They are used in a wide range of applications, from residential homes to large commercial buildings, hospitals, and industrial facilities. The design and capacity of an AHU are tailored to the specific needs of the building, considering factors such as size, occupancy, and internal heat loads.
