Iligan

Iligan City is a city in the province of Lanao del Norte, in the Philippines. Located on the northern coast of Mindanao along Iligan Bay, it serves as the province’s urban and economic center. The city is popularly known as the City of Majestic Waterfalls for its surrounding sights and natural features.

Among its most visited natural attractions are Maria Cristina Falls on the Agus River and Tinago Falls, whose scenic settings draw tourists and locals alike. The Agus hydropower complex, constructed on the Agus River system, has historically supplied electricity to Mindanao and remains a significant infrastructure asset for the region.
