IfcProject

IfcProject represents the highest level of the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) information model. It serves as the root object for a complete IFC project, encompassing all entities and relationships that define a building or infrastructure project. The IfcProject object contains fundamental information about the project, such as its name, description, and units of measurement. It also acts as a container for other key project-related elements.

Within an IfcProject, you will find IfcSite objects, which define the geographic location and context of the project. Multiple IfcSite objects can exist within a single IfcProject, allowing for the representation of complex or geographically dispersed developments. The IfcProject also references IfcUnits, which are crucial for ensuring consistency in dimensional data throughout the model.

The IfcProject object's primary role is to establish a common framework for all project data. It acts as the anchor for the entire IFC model, enabling interoperability and data exchange between different software applications used in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
