Identitetsstatusmodell
Identitetsstatusmodell refers to a framework used to understand the various stages or states individuals may experience in forming their personal identity. This model, often associated with developmental psychology, suggests that identity is not a fixed entity but rather a dynamic process. Key to the model is the concept of exploration and commitment. Individuals may be in a state of identity diffusion, where they have not yet explored or committed to any particular roles or beliefs. Alternatively, they might be in a moratorium phase, actively exploring different options but not yet having made firm commitments. A state of foreclosure occurs when individuals adopt identities without significant personal exploration, often based on parental or societal expectations. Finally, the achieved identity state represents a period where individuals have engaged in exploration and subsequently made firm commitments to their values, beliefs, and life paths. Understanding these different statuses helps in comprehending the psychological journey of self-discovery and the challenges and resolutions involved in developing a coherent sense of self throughout the lifespan.
