IUPUI

IUPUI stands for Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis. It is a public research university located in Indianapolis, Indiana, established in 1969 as a joint venture of Indiana University and Purdue University. The campus brings together programs from both universities on a single urban site and is a major center for health sciences, engineering, and urban studies.

The university offers a wide range of degree programs through schools and departments affiliated with its parent institutions, spanning business, engineering, humanities, social sciences, sciences, and health sciences. Notable components include the Indiana University School of Medicine–Indianapolis and the Kelley School of Business at IUPUI, as well as the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology. Governance is shared by Indiana University and Purdue University, with a campus chancellor overseeing day-to-day operations on behalf of both institutions.

IUPUI enrolls more than 30,000 students in undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs, making it one of the larger urban universities in the United States. The campus is known for strengths in health sciences, life sciences, engineering, informatics, and public affairs, and hosts a number of research centers and institutes affiliated with both IU and Purdue.
