The ITRF2008 is the eighth realization of the International Terrestrial Reference Frame. It provides a consistent and stable three-dimensional coordinate system for the Earth. Established by the International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service (IERS), the ITRF2008 is based on a combination of geodetic data from various space geodetic techniques, including the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR), and Doppler Orbitography and Radiopositioning Integrated by Satellite (DORIS).
