Hørelsesevnen, or hearing, is the sense that allows us to perceive sound. It is a complex process involving the ear and the brain. Sound waves, which are vibrations traveling through the air, enter the outer ear and are directed into the ear canal. These waves then cause the eardrum to vibrate. These vibrations are amplified by three tiny bones in the middle ear, called the malleus, incus, and stapes.
