Hätäehkäisy, also known as emergency contraception or the morning-after pill, refers to contraceptive methods used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure. Hätäehkäisy is available over-the-counter in many countries, while in others it may require a prescription.
