The formula for hydrostatic pressure is P = ρgh, where P is the pressure, ρ (rho) is the density of the fluid, g is the acceleration due to gravity, and h is the depth.

The concept is fundamental in understanding buoyancy and the behavior of liquids. For example, the pressure at the bottom of a swimming pool is greater than at the surface.
