HydrierungPyrolyse
HydrierungPyrolyse is a chemical process that integrates hydrogenation and pyrolysis to convert organic feedstocks into useful liquid products. The technique first subjects the feed to pyrolysis, a thermal decomposition in the absence of oxygen, producing a mixture of gases, liquids and solid char. During or immediately after the pyrolysis step, hydrogen gas or a hydrogen donor is introduced in the presence of a catalyst. The hydrogenation step saturates the unsaturated bonds in the liquid fraction and can reduce the viscosity and improve the stability of the product.
Typical feedstocks for HydrierungPyrolyse include lignocellulosic biomass, pyrolysis oil derived from plastics, and other polymer wastes.
