Hvemme

Hvemme is a village and former municipality in the district of Lüneburg in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is located on the edge of the Elbe-Bille-Aue nature reserve, a protected area characterized by its wetlands and diverse flora and fauna. Historically, Hvemme was an independent municipality. In 1974, as part of a regional administrative reform, it was incorporated into the larger municipality of Amt Neuhaus. This integration brought Hvemme under the administration of the Samtgemeinde (collective municipality) of Amt Neuhaus.
